The course covers sociological research methods on problems that arouse from qualitative approach, including case studies, participant observation, and analysis of historical records, and adequate solutions.

(Statistical Research Methods 1)
The course outlines students to acquire knowledge in logical backgrounds behind analysis of materials and reasoning of relation between cause and effect and learn essential statistical research methods for analysis, including hypothesis testing, multiple regression analysis, categorical logistic regression analysis, and analysis of interaction of dummy variables.

This course examines the scientific and philosophical basis of sociological research methods and identifies problems with various research methods in sociology.
SOC7753 불평등과 사회정의
(Inequality and Social Justice)
The course is for discussion on social justice through the prism of various ideas and theoretical approaches. The focus will be laid on mechanism behind inequality in distribution of social resource, including power, wealth, honor, and self-esteem, and justice of distribution. Considering that social justice related with inequality is closely related with human rights, discussion will be further expanded to cover related topics. Definition on social justice shall be explored by theoretical discussion from both the East and the West, and further, debates will take place on potential of achieving justice in distribution in the modern society.

(Methodological Foundations of Social Science)
This course aims to take a closer look at sociological methodologies that sometimes conflict and integrate some other times. The first half of the course is outlined for exploration of logic behind a diversity of explanations, while the latter half is designed for issues of understanding.
